Pozotron's Script Prep tools are designed to save you time, reduce errors, and keep your audiobook workflow organized. And there are several powerful features tucked just below the surface.
These hidden gems can make your prep process even faster and more efficient once you know where to look.
Here are five features you might not be using to their full potential (yet!).
When you're working in the Pronunciation Guide, you might notice a small Cloud Icon next to the microphone icon. This feature gives you access to a wider range of pronunciation resources.
Clicking the Cloud Button allows you to switch between different dictionaries to access alternative pronunciations for a specific word. This is especially helpful when a single pronunciation source doesn't match the author's intended meaning or regional dialect.
Instead of having to change the default dictionary for your entire project, you can fine-tune your approach word by word, making it easier to find the correct pronunciation for each word.
Why it's a gem: Instead of guessing or searching externally, you can instantly hear and compare multiple pronunciation options right inside Pozotron. This helps you choose the pronunciation that fits the context or matches the author's preference without ever leaving the platform.
Pozotron's Pronunciation Guide doesn't just give you suggestions; it lets you control how many suggestions you see. With Suggestion Sensitivity, you can adjust the tool's attentiveness to match your project's needs.
You can choose to move the slider up or down for both Foreign and Complex words, giving you more control and peace of mind. This is perfect for tailoring your workflow based on genre, vocabulary, or narrator experience level.
To access it, go to the Suggestions Page in the Pronunciation Guide and click "Suggestion Sensitivity." You'll see two sliders: one for Foreign Words and another for Complex Words.
Drag the sliders right to increase sensitivity, and more complex or foreign words will be flagged. Slide it left to reduce frequency, focusing only on the most critical entries.
Why it's a gem: Not every script needs the same level of detail. Adjusting the sensitivity to suit the text and the narrator will help streamline your prep. Once you find your ideal setting for a project, it can become your secret weapon for smarter, context-based script prep!
When you're prepping your script and looking at a word, either in Research or Suggestions mode, you can click "Count" to instantly see every time that word appears in your manuscript.
Previously, the studio would only show the first five instances of a word, but based on your valuable feedback, we've adjusted it so you can see every instance.
This tool is particularly handy for prep-intensive genres like fantasy, sci-fi, or non-fiction, where repetition and consistency matter.
Why it's a gem: This is incredibly helpful before you ever step into the booth. It's similar to Scan Occurrences, but instead of scanning what you've already recorded, this shows you every textual instance in the script before you record.
That means you can double‑check tricky names, terms, or pronunciations up front and make sure your prep is rock solid before you begin recording.
The Character Guide is a cornerstone of efficient audiobook prep. Still, many users are unaware that Pozotron takes it a step further by automatically identifying and tagging characters with information directly from the manuscript.
When you open Suggestions in the Character Guide, you'll see an entry for each character Pozotron has located. Some will have an "AI" tag, meaning Pozotron was able to find descriptive cues, such as tone, emotion, age, or appearance, in the surrounding text and has included them as notes.
You can even filter for AI-tagged characters using the dropdown menu in the top-right corner of the Character Guide.
Why it's a gem: This can give you a head start in understanding how a character was intended to sound based on the script clues from the author.
Note: This feature is in BETA and is continuously being improved.
Pozotron is already designed to be intuitive, but with hotkeys, your workflow becomes even faster. These keyboard shortcuts let you quickly interact with your script without moving your mouse or breaking your flow.
While working in the Pronunciation or Character Guides, try:
Mastering just a few of these hotkeys can make your prep process feel smoother and more intuitive, especially on longer projects.
Why it's a gem: Less clicking, more efficiency! Once you've memorized a few hotkeys, you'll be amazed at how much faster your workflow becomes.
